The CatchLight Reflector V2 from Angler is a simple solution to a lighting problem. A common technique for achieving a glamorous portrait is lighting the subject on-axis from above to bring out the modeling of the face and details in the hair, makeup, etc. But what to do about the hard shadows under the nose and around the eyes other than add additional lights to complicate the subject? The Catchlight V2 is a modifier with a width of 58.5″ wide andan open “U” shape which forms an arc to surround your subject. It has tightly-stretched reflective silver material to offer a consistent effect.

The included bracket fits standard light stands and allows the reflector to be tilted to the ideal angle for bouncing light from the main source and slightly flatten the contrast, while maintaining a three-dimensional look. This versatile reflector removes the shadows to the desired degree without adding another source. The CatchLight V2’s name is derived from the natural-looking reflections that are created in your subject’s eyes, and because of its unbroken arc shape doesn’t have the gaps seen when using multiple reflectors. The CatchLight V2 can be used with any light source, be it a tungsten, LED, or flash fixture, or even outdoors with ambient sunlight. The CatchLight V2 sets up and breaks down in minutes, the silver fabric reflector features zippered closures that add tension to create a wrinkle-free reflective surface.
